Description
Religious painting of the face of the agony of Christ
Work of the art genre brotherhood of expressionist style where Jesus Christ is shown at the time of his crucifixion. The painting is a close-up of the agony of Our Lord, with his mouth half open and his teeth visible, with his gaze already lost and facing the sky, announcing the wound of his death. The image is a representation of the original carving made in 1682 by the Spanish baroque sculptor Francisco Antonio Ruiz Gijón, made in Flanders royal cedar commissioned by the Brotherhood and Brotherhood of the Expiration of Christ and Our Lady of Peace. As a curiosity, the sculpture presents different colors in each eye; the other right is brown while the left is green.
