She was bought as a slave by the diplomat Callisto Legnani with the intention of restoring her freedom. He stood out for his enormous love for Christ and his devotion to the Eucharist or the Holy Sacrifice, in addition to his great social work among the most underprivileged, receiving the pseudonym of Mother Moretta (The Dark Mother).
