Description
Religious painting of the Virgin of Guadalupe
Table inspired by the original image located in the Basilica of Guadalupe to the north of Mexico City. In this case, a foreground of the Virgin has been chosen. The rays of the background, symbol of the Sun in the Aztec divinity, are represented in a synthesized way, while the facial features of Our Lady are defined and more humanized, with her characteristic downward gaze and her tender and maternal expression. She is covered by the blue (sky) and greenish (life) mantle full of stars that represent the constellations that were seen from her city in the year in which she appeared.
