Description
Religious painting of the profile of Jesus Christ in agony
Work of the art genre brotherhood of expressionist style where Jesus Christ is shown at the time of his crucifixion. The painting shows the left profile (with his green eye) in the foreground, reflecting the suffering of Jesus on his Cross. His mouth ajar and his gaze already lost almost blind to the sky warns us of the wound of his death. The image is a representation of the original carving made in 1682 by the Spanish baroque sculptor Francisco Antonio Ruiz Gijón, made in Flanders royal cedar commissioned by the Brotherhood and Brotherhood of the Expiration of Christ and Our Lady of Peace.
