En esta pintura se representa la aparición de Jesucristo en mitad de una tormenta en el mar de Galilea. El Señor camina hacia la barca donde se escuentran sus apóstoles que reman con todas sus fuerzas contra el vientro. Al verlos, Jesús les dijo con la esperanza de transquilizarlos ”Soy yo. No tengan miedo”. Entonces pedro dijo “Señor, si eres tú, ordéname que vaya hacia tí”, a lo que Jesús contestó ”¡Ven!”. Pedro se bajó de la barca y caminó hacia Él sobre las aguas. De pronto sitió miedo pensando que se hundiría sobre el mar y gritó “¡Señor, sálvame!”. Jesús le agarró de la mano y le dijo: “¿Por qué empezaste a dudar? ¿Es que no tienes fe?”. Una vez subidos a la barca, la tormenta se detuvo y los apóstoles dijeron “Es verdad, tú eres el Hijo de Dios”.
